How the Best Get There

Fast. Strong. Mentally Tough.

The best field hockey players don't get fast, strong, and mentally tough by accident. They follow a plan, with the right coaches and the right system — and they put in the work. We've trained thousands of field hockey players and pro athletes across sports, and we keep seeing the same three mistakes holding players back.

The 3 Major Mistakes

What's Holding You Back

1

You don't know where you are

You've never been properly assessed or screened. No matter your goals, you can't create a roadmap if you don't know where you're starting from.

2

You only chase strength

You focus on getting stronger and trying to fix everything through strength — but you don't address the other performance areas, sleep, nutrition, or how all the pieces fit together. This will never correct the issues you're having.

3

No consistent, specific plan

You don't follow a consistent, specifically programmed plan designed for you to address the exact issues holding you back. Random workouts don't build elite field hockey players.

There's so much information out there, it's hard to know where to begin. The good news? We've spent the last 25 years sorting through all of it — so we can bring you the cheat codes in our complete training system.

The Peak Performance Pathway

3 Stages to Maximize Performance

Our proven system follows three key stages to maximize your performance and reduce your risk of injury. Easy as 1, 2, 3.

1

Determine

We evaluate each athlete's fitness, movement, attitude, coachability, and effort, and interactions during a fully integrated trial workout. Identify individual development needs while allowing athletes to experience the finish-first difference, our coaching standards and culture, and determine if they're a right fit for our program.

2

Develop

Once an athlete is determined to be a fit for our program, we create an individualized development plan based on our initial observations, their goals, and their schedule. We place each athlete in the appropriate training program to comprehensively develop their strength, speed, power, movement, and mindset, building the physical abilities and mental skills they need to perform their best when it matters most.

3

Dominate

Lastly, you execute the plan with purpose, fully engaging in every workout and training session. Through constant effort, coaching, and accountability, athletes learn to embrace the process, take ownership of their development, and do the work necessary to reach new levels of athletic performance when it matters most.

Why Our Field Hockey Training

Speed & Strength That Translates to the Turf

Decrease Your Risk of Injury

Play field hockey longer and stay or get pain-free. We train the movements — pre-habilitation — that have the biggest impact on reducing injury risk, especially ankle and hip.

Increase Your Power

Push harder and strike with more consistency, with the same or less effort. Rotational power built through hips and core — not arms alone.

Increase Your Strength

Put more force and stability in every push, tackle, and sprint. Be faster, stronger, and a more formidable opponent every time you step on the turf.

Improve Your Acceleration

More speed and power in your first few steps gives you separation on a breakaway or recovery run. Quick first steps win 50/50 balls and break open a press.

Improve Your Top-End Speed

Reach a higher top speed and make it harder for anyone to catch up. Coaches notice speed — be the fastest on the turf.

Improve Your Quickness

Foot speed is crucial for dodging, cutting, and matching up with an opponent on the turf. Quick feet win one-on-one battles.

Increase Endurance & Stamina

Maintain power, strength, and stability through the entire game and tournament weekend. Play at your highest intensity without slowing down or fading off.

Increase Your Flexibility

Utilize a fuller range of motion when sprinting, pushing, and changing direction. Prevent injuries and increase your power potential through hip mobility.

Increase Your Coordination

Get better control of all the movements required in field hockey — stick work, footwork, and body control working together at game speed.

Postural Stability

Maintain proper dynamic posture throughout your field hockey-specific movements — dodging, pushing, defending — and move efficiently through your spine.

Increase Your Mobility

Unlock your joints to improve movement and fix lingering issues. Hip and ankle mobility are the foundation that lets speed and power happen on the turf.

Goalkeeper-Specific Exercises

One of our specialty areas is helping goalkeepers move quicker, explode laterally, and track the ball better. Specialized drills for the demands of the cage.
